Gate to the Castle

A project I made as part of a mentorship with Dominique Buttiens. The whole level was modeled by me, while mixing megascan materials and my own to speed up the project time. Set dressing was done with some megascans to fill out the environment.
I was able to learn a lot in the past several weeks thanks to the great guidance and feedback, and really enjoyed having the insight of a principal environment artist in a project to learn the ins and outs of one of the possible pipelines for a UE5 Lumen lighted project.

I recreated the entrance to the middle castle of Malbork Castle in Poland, as I was recently inspired by the red roof tiles that are so iconic from historic Polish scenery and the Witcher 4 tech demo. After watching that showcase I knew I had to make something from this region, and the mentorship also allowed me to tune up my skill set. I hope you like the end result!
